                      31st WOMAN

This is one post that has taken me a lot of reading, praying, cracking my head and time to come up with. I pray it enlightens you today.

Proverbs is a beautiful chapter filled with handouts of how to be and what to look out for.
Women mostly dwell on the 31st chapter to know the kind of woman to grow into,  the guys may say why am I focusing on women but proverbs 31st was actually written to young men to help them consider their life mates carefully. So this post is for both parties.
The women written below weren't entirely perfect but let's look closely beyond their flaws and learn a thing or two from them.
EVE; first of her kind! Mother of all living.
Though she fell into sin and was sent out of abundance to a place of hardship, she tilled the soil with Adam and brought food home for her family.
Be EVE; she is a hard worker, strong and industrious (prov.31:17).

SARAH; hoping against hope.
Sarah is represented by a well-respected woman, who is beautiful and isn't afraid of the future, she worried about her inability to provide a child for her husband and even pushed Hagar to assist her, but she was always hopeful that one day her husband will become the father of many nations.
Be SARAH; be hopeful for she is strong and respected and not afraid of the future. (prov.31:25).

DEBORAH;  the Bold
she was a judge, a prophetess and a woman of God, she was bold enough to lead battles with Barak (judg.4:9)
Be DEBORAH; she is bold and strong.

RUTH; unshakable loyalty and love.
Though life gave her lemons, made her a widow after few years of marriage. She refused to go back to her people, she swore allegiance to Naomi. She kept herself busy by working in the field; she brought food home for her mother.
Get RUTHed; she is loyal and faithful, she is like merchant ships; she bringeth food from afar, she riseth also while it is yet night and giveth food to her household. (Prov. 31:14-15).

HANNAH; portrait of feminine grace.
She looked beyond her childlessness and went to God consistently in prayer and when her prayers were answered, she stood on her promise to God and handed Samuel to God. She was a woman of integrity (1sam.1:13-22)
Be HANNAH; she knows the value of everything she makes, she knows if she makes a promise she keeps it and she stays up till late at night praying. (Prov. 31:18)

ESTHER; all hail queen Esther, the noble, the fearless yet submissive wife, the diligent woman who put her life on the line for her people.
Be ESTHER; she looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness(prov.31:27). Her husband puts his confidence in her(prov. 31:17).

JAEL; strong and courageous.
She killed Sisera with her diligent plan and courageous moves. (Judg.4:17-22)
Be JAEL; she girdeth her loins with strength and strengthens her arm (prov.31:17)

ABIGAIL; Beautiful and filled with Wisdom.
Beauty wasn't all there was to this woman, she was wise and used this measure to save her husband's foolish actions from David's rage (1sam.25:18-31).
Be ABIGAIL; she speaketh with gentle wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. (prov.31:26).

RAHAB;  the Brave.
With a questionable past, though redeemed, Rahab was brave enough to accommodate spies sent to Jericho. She put her life and her entire family on the line by hiding the enemy of her king. For she knew the one true God wasn't the one she was made believe to have worshipped all her life. Her bravery saved her life and her entire household(Josh.2:1-17). She knew her town was headed for doom but fear was far from her as she believed in this God she had come to hear about.
Be RAHAB; she is not afraid of the snow for her household; for her household is clothed with warm clothing. (prov.31:21).

The SAMARITAN WOMAN; thirsty for the truth.
At the well to get water but met with Jesus, she learns about the water of Life, water that quenches your thirst and leaves you never thirsty for water again and she pleas for this water, she pleas for she is thirsty for the truth, the truth about the kingdom of God (John.4:7-16).
Be the SAMARITAN WOMAN; discover that which is most important and thirst for it, find it and stick to it.

The WOMAN with the ALABASTER jar; a woman of Reckless abandonment.
Completely overwhelmed by Jesus, takes her most expensive perfumes and pours on his head, uses her tears to wash his feet and her hair as a towel. (Luke.7:36-39) She reckless abandons the things the world terms important and bows at the foot of her master.she doesn't care what people will say just a moment lying at the feet of her bridegroom.
Be the WOMAN with the ALABASTER jar; abandon that which isn't profitable in comparison to your sole existence which is God.

The Widow of Zarephath; Generous in lack.
She gave her last meal to Elijah, she didn't care she had little, she sowed the seed of joyful giving (1king.17:7-16).
Be the WIDOW of Zarephath; she is generous to the poor and the needy (prov.31:20).

MARY MAGDALENE; first witness to the Resurrection.
A woman delivered from darkness, she was a loyal follower and friend of Jesus till death. Though Jesus was dead and buried she came to his tomb to be in the presence of her saviour and friend.
Be MARY MAGDALENE;  she is a doer of good and a loving friend.

LYDIA; hospitable, open-hearted and productive.
She opened her home to Paul and Silas, she was an industrious and a productive businesswoman who made a living from selling purple cloth.
Be LYDIA; she makes herself coverings, fine linen and selleth it to a merchant (prov.31:22,24).

MARY; Blessed amongst women, Obedient, humble, pure, chaste.
Mary the mother of Jesus, a small town girl was found favoured amongst all women to bear the saviour of the world.
Be MARY; for her husband praises her. She is blessed, she is humble. (prov.31:28-29)

The 31st Woman is worth far more than rubies, she is not just a beautiful face for she knows that charm is deceitful and beauty is vain.
She is generous, virtuous, noble, loving, creative, strong, bold, productive, diligent, confident, wise, courageous, hardworking, praiseworthy and above all a woman who fears God.
The 31st woman is a combination of all the women mentioned above and more.
