THY vs MINE

THY  Vs MINE

It is said that we become the choices we make. We all have this pictures in our minds of how we want our lives to be, the kind of person we want to end up with, the type of job we want and all that.
The dilemma isn't what we want but what God wants for us.
Don't we all just sit there and make a lot of choices independent of God?
We just jump right into our decisions and when things go wrong we begin to wonder where God is.
This brings us to today's example :
Jacob!
Wasn't he something.
After stealing Abraham's hand me down blessings that were meant for Esau, one would think everything will go smooth and steady for him, but that wasn't the case rather he struggled for years and couldn't find a way to activate this quantity of blessings he carried.
Jacob saw Rachael and was completely blown away by her appearance and personality, we all know how he struggled and how hard he worked to get her only to be deceived by Laban and given Leah on the night of his wedding.
Now pause, everything happens for a reason isn't it?? You all may stand firm and prefer Racheal to Leah but I stand with Leah.
God wanted it that way, Leah was God's preference while Racheal was Jacob's, he made his choice to ignore the way things had turn out and go working for another long 7years for Racheal.
Leah though not loved by her husband as compared to her sister; had more children than Racheal.
Leah's offspring; Judah is where God decided that the saviour of the world would come from.
Leah bore Levi, the leader of the priestly tribe.
Leah was buried in a more prestigious way, she was buried in the cave of Machpelah same place Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca were buried. (Gen.49:31)
Racheal ended up stealing her father's idol and lying about it, she then died on their way before Jacob and his family got back to Canaan.  So after working 14years for her, she died after what now? Just a few years. Really Racheal! Really!!
Was Racheal really worth all d trouble after all?
Don't get me wrong, Racheal's son Joseph helped bring his family to Egypt and gave them a favourable place to live in when famine struck.
God doesn't neglect you either when you make the choices he has back up plans for you in case you decided to do as you please but it's safer we walk in his will for us.
This story is a clear indication that following our heart desires and wants as to God's plan, will lead us to work extra harder than we ought to and not even getting to have a lasting fulfilment of what we have worked so hard for.

Here's a fact God sees every possible version of your future; all the alternate versions of what you might become with different choices and circumstances. He knows your greatest potential and the greatest threats to your destiny. God exists outside of time and has the amazing ability to see all these versions of you at once. The good and bad; the past, present and future, are all intertwined in his eyes.

Our prayer then should be that He aligns our dreams, wishes and choices to his, after all, Jeremiah 29:11 says "I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for"
His plans may look different and hard to comply with but God has our best interest at heart and his plans are way better ours. After all, He's the architect of our lives, let him handle the blueprints, you just take a sit and let God do the choosing for you.
