       Focus; Eyes Above the Waves

      Lately, in my life everything has been connected, if I get to hear one thing somewhere I hear it everywhere, I go like I'm being repeatedly taught that same thing from different people and situations.
All that has been on the repeat this period is focus as I put my music player on shuffle and half of the time hillsong's "oceans/where my feet fail" plays.
   Life is full of enough worries, so many worries that when one is solved somehow another shows up;
Peter was a fisherman, he had been at this profession all his life and the sea was a place he was very familiar with, he had learnt to paddle his boat through the rough seas, he had spent nights on sea but this night was different. He was with more people than he normally would be and the storm was worse than he had ever experienced as they struggled to sail through the waves and the opposing winds, the other disciples probably were like "peter got this, he is a fisherman".
Now peter was placed in a position of making sure he didn't let all his folks down, he would sail through this storm at all cost and get them to the other side.
      In the midst of this confusion, they see someone walking towards them, all the ghost tales they had heard as children start to look more real than folk tales told to scare children. Jesus then called out to peter from the storm; peter come!  There Jesus stood on the surface of the sea.
Now ordinarily peter would never in his wildest imaginations leave the boat, not to talk of him walking an inch away from the boat, but this was his saviour calling him, other disciples were in shock at such a call from Jesus "How do you expect him to go out, you want him to drown? Can't you see the storm?  Come on!  Jesus We believe you are the Messiah and all  but you are  going to get peter killed if you think he can act like you" they all Murmured.
       Peter gets up and puts one leg out and the next out, he's standing on the raging waters his eyes are focused above the waves, as he takes another step the sea rises even higher but he's determined to meet Jesus, he knows Jesus hasn't failed him and he wouldn't start today such trust; trust with no boarders.
He takes few more steps and with each step he moves deeper into the water but he doesn't care this reckless faith of his has to be tested somehow even if he ends up at the bottom of the sea. He stays positive for a few seconds then his eyes shift from the bulls eye to the strength of the waves, fear wins him over and he sinks in.
     Our faiths are put to test with the challenges we face, in Peter's case after each step he felt he had conquered the waves but he found the sea worse as he took few more steps. That's life one worry goes off and a bigger one appears but God is always at the end of the seas of our worries calling you to trust him and never let the fears sink you, asking you to look above the waves and walk upon the troubled waters and stay focused on the goal. Don't let the obstacles swamping at your feet knock you to the ground.  Its easy to back down,drown and fail but let's try to do the difficult things and stop trying to take the easy way out of life. Life is a troubled sea, you have to belt up faith and walk on that sea anyway if you want to get through, because sometimes the boat may not be as fast as your feet. So amiss the troubles be still and know that he is God, he gives you the courage command; be courageous and strong (Josh.1:9), don't let the wavy storms in sea of life deter you, even if you sink in his outstretched hand will lift you out and drop you at your destination.

So we are not afraid when the earth quakes and the mountains fall into the sea.  We are not afraid when the seas become rough and dark and the mountains tremble. Selah
