Jesus Identity

               JESUS IDENTITY

I pondered for a while why some things happen in life and why God just lets them happen, like the story I read yesterday  about a baby that was born blind and even all the other stories of people born with a certain  condition that makes going through  life really hard for them, all I could understand  in relation  to the story of the man that was born blind and had suffered all his life with this blindness not until Jesus came and healed him,  and when the disciples asked what possible  sin the man had committed  to be born blind, Jesus replied that it was for the works of God to be made manifest in him and for the glory of God.  Doesn't make sense right?  But if things like this happen and they are all for the glory of God then so be it, my pondering had now been cut short by Jesus' words.

Back to the matter of the day;  Lazarus,  friend of Jesus one would think to be in close friendship with the Messiah himself sickness and death should automatically  flee from him but this wasn't the case, he fell sick rolled on his sickbed for days, even sent messages to his friend Jesus to come to his aid. But what did Jesus do when he heard the message?  "my friend Lazarus is sick, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby." then he delayed for two extra days (John 11:1-4). Are you for real Jesus! Like two extra days?? The "friend of the year" award wouldn't be going to Jesus that year, I'm sure Lazarus was in tears as each day passed and his so-called "friend" hadn't come to his aid.  He probably died angry knowing that his friend had all the power to heal other sick people, make the lame walk and the blind to see but just to take away this fever Jesus never came through for him.

Everything that happens on earth that God permits happens for a reason and must end in his glorification.  Like Lazarus, we were created in sin and this sin resulted in the sickness of our minds and death of our souls but before our creation, we existed in the mind of God, he foreknew us but Satan stepped in  of course through Adam and Eve (our not so wonderful parents) and messed up our minds and the knowledge we were supposed to be born with. So God had to reconfigure our minds to be conformed to the image of His son Jesus and for this reconfiguration process to be completed we (Lazarus) had to die.

Now when Jesus got to Judea, Lazarus had already been dead for four days and had been laid in a tomb,  Jesus understood it was a process but Mary, Martha and other people around didn't understand  and this lack of understanding made Martha cry out to Jesus saying " if you had been here, my brother would still be alive" even when He tried to explain that Lazarus will rise again her human understanding  stood in the way and all she knew was that on the last day Lazarus will resurrect. She didn't understand that resurrection wasn't a day but was Jesus himself (john11:25).

The reconfiguration that had started four days ago was done, the predestined conformation to His Sons image was complete, then Jesus went into the tomb with Martha, the stench of his dead Satan-orientated mind was so bad that she had to cover her nose. Jesus then called out to Lazarus, offering him justification from the accusations and snares of death and he arose. Jesus asked that he be unbound and loosed, not from the grave clothes which they saw physically but from the holds of the old mentality  of himself he once had, his sick mind had been renewed, a new image he was  given to be like the son and he now would walk out of that tomb as a witness of God's glory.
Lazarus's death and resurrection was a literal one but for most us,  we go through life with a messed up identity of who we really are,  we allow our minds to be filled with the images we form about ourselves  or allow society form.  Our minds have trapped us into thinking the worst of ourselves, our minds have made us believe that we are ordinary. We have to let Jesus do the reconfiguration because the image you were initially created to be conformed to is an extraordinary one.

Jesus is extraordinary and he is seated in heavenly places high up there.
So Who are you?
You have been foreknown in the mind of  God long before you were created and given a destiny to be extraordinary like Jesus and you have been called to be justified and made for the glorification of God.
You are the Jesus identity!!!

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Romans 8:29‭-‬30 KJV

  1. You know I posted on Facebook this morning that 'the worst thing someone can do to you is, give up on you' , and reading yours now, someone can say its either I posted mine after reading yours or we think in line sometimes, though you go deeper in thought than I do. You are a blessing.
