Dark Roads

                 DARK ROADS

      It was almost 11pm as I hurried to get home, I held on tight to my bag like my life depended on it. It had become a usual thing to be nabbed in dark alleys, my phone battery was flat so I couldn't put on the flashlight on my phone to see the path that lead to my house. My house was at the end of the road, I hadn't been home for some months and I didn't exactly know the state of the road that led to my house, getting through this path with no light was going to be really difficult, i tried to be careful as i took one step at a time unsure of what the next step was. As I walked a few more steps my feet got stuck in a puddle of water, I quickly pulled my leg out and stamped it to try to shake off the mud. As I moved further this time being more cautious, the moon wasn't shinning so much today so I was just walking this dark path with the dimmest source of nightlight, with no clear vision of my path only expectations of my destination, to have a proper bath,eat a good meal and lie on my bed and enjoy the comfort of my bed. 
      As I kept walking the path, it began to  seem like life's journey, we are walking a path unsure of what is coming our way, the only thing we have in our heads is a future expectation of peace and good tidings at the end of the way, we hope to reach a destination, a future where we are comfortable. A light at the end of this dark path we walking on. But guess what? We aren't alone. If you walk through life's paths with fear of the unknown you may just get lost in the dark and wonder off the road afraid of what crawling animal or what pothole your feet might get stuck in.
          God is telling you this, "walk with me"  
Like the three Hebrew boys, if it's fire that you walk through on your path to your future, you will not be burnt.
Like the Israelites, if it's the red sea you have right in front of you and you seem not know how to get through, He will part the sea and create a road for you to walk through.
If you walk through the desert where there's absolutely no food and water and all you see is dry land, He will make brooks and water will spring forth out of rocks, manna and quail will rain from heaven for you.
Like Daniel if you are thrown into the lions den, the lion will loose its appetite.
Like Joseph if you get thrown into the prison, the prison will become a place of internship for the perfection of your gifts.
If you find yourself on a stormy sea waging war against your soul, He will speak to the storm and calm the sea for you.
If you come face to face with mountains and there's no way around it, He will level them for you.
If you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, His rod and staff will protect you and you will walk right out of that valley without any death scratches, shadows don't scratch.
If you meet walls as high and strong as Jericho's walls, they will come crashing to the ground for your sake.
If you walk through the darkness, He will illuminate your path.
 Whatever obstacle that comes up against you, frustrations, depression, lack,insecurities, fear,heartaches,sicknesses, failures, and all the other enemies against you reaching your destination, God promises He will prepare a massive buffet served with continental dishes of blessings,grace,peace,favour,good health,long life,love and other deserts for you. You wouldn't be eating all this alone though,  this is a banquet specially prepared for you and all your distinguished enemies, you will be seated in your banquet on a large dinning table with Mr fear, miss heartaches, Mr. insecurities, Mrs. Depression, Mrs. Lack, Dr. Mrs sickness and diseases and all your other distinguished  enemies on the guest list. 
Imagine sitting in through  life's journey  completely satisfied and these enemies are seated right next to you watching you, rather than go crazy by their presence, you are seated comfortably in your chair eating and enjoying a full course finger licking meal of Grace because you trust the Chef to deliver. 
     The journey of life is uncertain, we buy the bus tickets, hop on with only thoughts and assumptions of our destination but filled with uncertainty of the routes. The only certain thing on this journey is when we let God be the driver of the bus we will sure reach a glorious destination. 
God's promises to us are unfailing, if we just learn to walk with Him no matter how uncertain our paths are because with Him we do not need to be careful about the potholes or insects creeping up on us but we walk majestically because we aren't even the ones doing the walking, we are being carried on his back to the destination of His plans of good and not evil that leads us to our expected end.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
