Self- Confidence, GOD'fidence

 Self-confidence, GOD'fidence

I have never liked pigs, those filthy animals will just run and lie in the mud and roll all over and make a mess of themselves, but those filthy animals sure know how to have fun in the mud. Sometimes, life could feel like a pool of mud, and very often we tend to see ourselves as being  stuck in the mud and wondering how to get out of it, but God sees you as a child playing in the mud, if you pause for a minute and understood that there's a cool sensation you get seated in the mud, same feeling pigs get on a sunny day when they dive into a mud and make a mess of themselves,  that's what God wants to teach you, He wants you to rather than worry about the mud, lie in there, learn to mould because very soon he's coming to take you out of the mud to give you a proper bath.

Abraham had lived in his fathers house all his life, he was a pathetic loser at 75 with a wife still living with Dad, nothing was exactly working for him. He was now the overgrown Daddy's boy, his peers had moved to live on their own with their new families and they either had farmlands or had ventured into animal husbandry or some sort of business. Each time Abraham passed where his peers were seated, he heard them laugh and call him names. They had done the mockery laugh so much that each time Abraham heard someone call him a loser he just walked by like it was his other name.
One time he came back from his Father's farm all tired only to walk past a group of people and overhear them talking about  Sarah, his wife and her inability not only in choosing a reasonable husband but also in bearing children. Abraham got furious, he could handle being called a failure but talking about Sarah's childlessness killed him and  he  just couldn't take it anymore, if he was a woman he would probably cry but he was a man he had to man up and walk home with his tail between his legs.
He was so frustrated,  how had he gotten to this point? He asked himself. He had become an object of mockery to the whole village. He had done his best, had spent days on different farms and different jobs yet he couldn't get enough money to stand on his own and give his wife the better life, here he was 75 and still totally dependent on his father. He kept praying to God and hoping for a miracle somehow.
Some nights he would sit outside thinking about his life and start to stare into the sky, counting the stars, counting the stars always had a way of making him forget all his woes. He believed in God, he knew things will get better eventually even if it took forever to happen, but that day where he could get out of this pool of mud life he was in will come.
One day in his usual way of sitting to watch the night sky, he heard God talk to him. "Abraham, I have watched you every single day worry about your future. But I'm glad you have never completely giving into despair, so get up and leave your Father's house to a land which I will show you. I will bless you"
He got up all excited called Sarah and his nephew Lot and they packed up and followed him.
Abraham walked with Confidence in God. He believed God so much that he didn't question " God, what destination exactly are you asking me to go to ? I can't leave my Fathers house on a fools journey of no known destination"  I would have said this, but not Abraham he trusted God totally.
In the past years situations and side comments  he had heard and been in didn't make him loose hope in himself either. His self confidence was a little bruised but it was still in existence because he bounded it with GOD'fidence.
He knew all he needed was a combination of complete trust in God and in himself. He sat many nights counting the stars little did he know he was stuck on counting his family tree, he didn't know his sons and daughters to come will be as many as those same stars he sat to count every other night.

Life happens, we make our plans and somehow  life screws us over with these plans. We put so much effort and we hardly even see the results, you don't have to pretend to like where you are right now, but here is a little reminder God doesn't neglect his role, not in the tiny roles like making sure the mosquitoes in your room woke up too to buzz and annoy you, nor in the big roles like allowing sunset to happen just at the right time and for dawn to break and bring forth sunrise, now that's a major job, if he doesn't forget to do that every day then don't think he has forgotten to answer your prayers. No matter how long it will take don't stop trusting him.

Remember You can do all things; through Christ who strengthens you. The first part of the scripture is a self confidence boast, the last part is the GOD'fidence boast. So Wake up! Look in the mirror, repeat Philippians 4:13, wrap your self confidence  with GOD'fidence and step out of your comfort zone and watch God give you the starlight night sky kind of blessings . whatever you do, do not let anyone or anything rob you of your faith in yourself or in God.
Confidence in Yourself and God is  a force too mighty to be defeated.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord , whose confidence is in him.  They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7‭-‬8 NIV
