DELAYED

DELAYED

Today I had to read a story I have read over and over in the Bible again. Mark 5:21-43 the NIV version titles it “Jesus raises a dead girl and heals a sick woman”
Now Jairus ran to Jesus and fell at his feet, his daughter was very ill and was dying. He needed Jesus to run off with him, lay hands on his little girl and heal her. Jairus gets Jesus to go home with him, he is then intercepted by a woman desperate for healing. Twelve years of constant bleeding, all medical attempt to put an end to this illness failed! Her last resort is to squeeze through the crowd and touch the hem of Jesus’s garment. She succeeds and she receives her healing. Her move of faith is noticed by Jesus, a move that causes a delay to Jairus’s daughter's healing. Jesus stops to attend to her before proceeding to see Jarius’ child.
This delay leads to the death of Jairus’s daughter. However, a ground for greater miracles to be experienced. This delay leads to a heart that had failed to beat again, this delay leads to many who had never believed in Jesus to believe, this delay turned doubters and naysayers to people who witnessed one of the few Bible recorded resurrection stories. The initial title of this verses will have been “Jesus heals a sick girl” but one interception led to an even bigger miracle.
Life! One minute it seems you are close to your breakthrough the next minute, you are standing facing giant walls. Now, could the sudden emergence of these walls be because God is trying to show you he can do more than your expectations, He can break the walls and take you beyond.
How many times have we allowed our minds to limit God’s ability?
